DAY 1 – Arjun Rampal is a Stunning Show Stopper for Rohit Bal
Actor Arjun Rampal transported fashionistas back to his super modelling days when he hit the ramp in a black bandhgala and pants with designer Rohit Bal’s newly introduced cock motif on the opening day of the India Couture Week (ICW) in New Delhi. On the first day of the gala, organised by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), Bal, known for his intricate designs with lotus and peacock motifs, surprised all with his new patented motif – cock.
The Swarovski crystals added shine to the opulent range, which was about Mughal era dressing.
DAY 2 – India Couture Week 2017 : Disha Patani is a ravishing Show Stopper for Manav Gangwani.
Young and vivacious Disha Patani added glamour to the Manav Gangwani’s show at the India Couture Week (ICW) 2017 when she walked for the designer as a showstopper in black trousseau with ‘maang tikka‘ adding drama to her looks. Gangwani, who has styled the likes of Kangana Ranaut and many more, celebrated India with his line titled “India @ 70“. It was an amalgamation of the rich heritage of India along with modern edgy elements that are incorporated in each garment.

DAY 3 – Bhumi Pednekar looks regal as Reynu Taandon’s Show Stopper
It was not just the showstopper Bhumi Pednekar who added glamour to her show at the India Couture Week (ICW) 2017, but the finest selection of colours also made designer Reynu Taandon’s collection a little more chic, classy and elegant. A perfect balance of traditional handwork, Taandon’s collection titled “CYAN” was inspired by peacock blue hues. Her collection was the perfect balance of traditional hand work, the captivation of the mirror work is made on screen printing regardless for the embellishments used with the creative and characteristics of the mirror.
The entire collection was artfully choreographed, styled and curated for everyone to celebrate the ever evolving fashion designs and trends in all their glory.
Day 3 – Athiya Shetty sizzles on Ramp for Shyamal and Bhumika
Bollywood diva Athiya Shetty dressed up in a glittery outfit looked no less than a princess for designer-duo Shyamal and Bhumika’s maiden show at India Couture Week (ICW) 2017 on Day 3.
The designer duo showcased their new couture collection titled “The Princess’s Soiree” and this made their debut on the platform. Shyamal and Bhumika took inspiration from rich Indian heritage and history and used its precious crafts and artisanal techniques to create couture collections relevant to modern day sensibilities.
“The Princess’s Soiree” complimented their last bridal collection, “The Merchant Princess”
The collection featured European details, Victorian inspirations and Baroque decorations amalgamated with rich Indian heritage.
Day 4 – Dia Mirza looks breathtaking as showstopper for Anju Modi
On Day 4 of India Couture Week, Dia Mirza closed designer Anju Modi’s show on Thursday by sashaying down the “environment friendly” runway in a traditional outfit, which is a part of the ‘Sunehri Kothi‘ (Golden chalet) collection.
Anju relived the mystique of Radha with her sharp features dressed in lehengas made from hand woven textiles and worn with fitted blouses.

A champion for sustainable fashion, made couture look effortlessly breathtaking with ‘Parizaad’. The line showcased lehengas, kalidars and silhouettes inspired from traditional Indian ensembles that spelt elegance and sophistication albeit with an easy grace.
Day 5 – Shilpa Turns Muse For Designer Monisha Jaising At ICW 2017
The fifth day at the ongoing FDCI India Couture week at Taj Palace Hotel was dedicated to evening wear on the runway, mixed with the occasional bridal wear, making for a confusing sense of what the larger theme was.
Designer Monisha Jaising presented a collection called ‘Opera‘ that attempted to marry 18th century European styles with traditional Indian techniques like banarasi weaving.
The designer, who is best known for her evening wear that feature an interesting blend of western and eastern details, showcased garments which were inspired by her fond memory of the Opera House flowing with people in their best garbs.
Varun Bahl
Varun Bhal’s collection titled “Dream Nouveau”, looks to the art Nouveau period for inspiration at the latest edition of India Couture Week 2017. Known for his innovative design aesthetic, Varun looks inspiration from the Art Nouveau period to create a series of Vintage floral.
DAY 6 – Aditi Sizzled On The Ramp As She Closed The Show For Gaurav Gupta
Gaurav, who showcased his couture collection titled ‘Moondust’, was all smiles as he walked in with his showstopper Aditi towards the end of the show. The two happily posed for shutterbugs after an ‘enchanting’ display of the couture line.
Actress Aditi Rao Hydari looked sizzling as she walked the marvellously done ramp for designer Gaurav Gupta (GG) on Day 6 of the ongoing FDCI India Couture Week 2017. The actress looked straight out of a fairytale land in the Gaurav Gupta ensemble as she closed the show for the designer with her confident and graceful walk on the ramp which was brilliantly beautified with decorative lighting installations by Klove.
Moondust, Gaurav’s couture line featured garments with western silhouettes and which had lots of sparkle and looked exquisite and heavenly. His couture pieces totally floored the audiences, who were all gaga about the divinity in the designer’s ensembles. With his signature sculpted wave gowns and a subdued, romantic colour story, Gaurav cast a spell on the ramp.

GRAND FINALE: Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh turn showstoppers for designer Manish Malhotra during the grand finale of the FDCI India Couture Week.
Inspired by the glamour of the roaring 20s, Manish Malhotra pulled off a coup by pairing Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh to close his finale act. While Bhatt was breathtaking in a bejewelled jacket top and nude lehenga replete with a long trail and delicate roses as surface embellishments, Singh owned the house with his flamboyance in an embroidered navy velvet sherwani paired with a sleek pair of micro check trousers.
Every attire carried a long trail reminiscent of the divas of yore. Presented in shades of nude, ice grey, bottle green and crimson, the couturier used sequins, stones and glass beads in abundance to make his ensembles shine. Rich Kashmiri embroidery embellished the menswear as well as some of the gowns and lehengas.
