India had a big win yesterday against Pakistan at the ICC Champions Trophy and Yuvraj Singh was declared Man of the Match. Yuvraj Singh scored 53 runs from 32 balls to change the complexion of the game against Pakistan, both team’s opener in the ICC Champions Trophy, and shift balance heavily in India’s favour.
Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh has dedicated his ‘game-changing’ innings to Cancer survivors on the occasion of ‘Cancer Survivor Day’. He has also expressed his thoughts and prayers to all those impacted in the London terror attack.
The last time Yuvraj scored a great innings against England in an ODI, his doting wife, Hazel Keech, took to social media to post, “”Fierce” should be his middle name. 150 runs from 127 balls, Man of the Match, India won 2-0 against England in ODIs. Not forgetting coming back from CANCER, getting his health and fitness back post chemo therapy and finally being in the ODI team after all of that. Throw in a wedding somewhere. That, ladies and gentleman, it what it looks like to never give up.
For a man who literally rebuilt his entire life, post his cancer treatment, his incredible journey is beyond inspiring. His journey is one of willpower, courage and strength and his victory today marks a great chapter in the life of this champion. Yuvraj Singh’s compassion and empathy towards cancer survivors has definitely made me his life long fan.
Yuvraj Singh set up a foundation called YouWeCan to spread cancer awareness. The foundation generates awareness on cancer prevention and early detection, and also fights against the stigma and misconceptions attached to the disease. The foundation stresses on the point that they are not looking to cure cancer but to fight it. YouWeCan further educates on the cost to get cancer screening for one person is ₹550 and how donations can help people detect/treat the deadly disease.
My innings #CancerSurvivorDay is dedicated to all the heroes & survivors. Also my thoughts & Prayers to all impacted in #londonattack.
MORE POWER TO YOU YUVI. KEEP SHINING.
