“We’ve granted a ‘UA’ to the trailer of Jab Harry Met Sejal on condition of deletion of the dialogue about intercourse”, said censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani.
Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal is the most recent victim of the wrath of censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani.
Sanskaari CBFC boss is not happy about the word “intercourse” in the second teaser of Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s film Jab Harry Met Sejal. The Pahlaj Nihalani-led Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) is scissor-prepared to cleave dialogues (as of now only one) from the Imtiaz Ali-coordinated Jab Harry Met Sejal, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma.
Discussing the trailer being relayed on news channels, Nihalani said, they’ve downloaded the uncut trailer on YouTube. “We [CBFC] cannot stop content on the internet. But we can and will stop the broadcast of the uncensored footage on television. The trailer has been picked up from the internet and is being aired on various news channels. This is completely against the law and we plan to take the strictest action against the channels which have aired the censored content from Imtiaz Ali’s film.
The trailer highlights the two actors discussing sex and a repayment bond. Anushka offers Shah Rukh a repayment bond and discloses to him that on the off chance that he signs it, he will get away from any lawful charges in the event that they get private. She says,“Agar humare beech koi sexual interaction hota hai, amounting to or not amounting to full intercourse, you are absolved of all legal charges.”
In an interview to a TV channel, he said: “You take voting from the public and I will clear the word (intercourse) on the promo and the film also. I want 1 lakh votes and I want to see that India has changed and Indian families want their 12-year-old kids to understand the meaning of this word (intercourse).”
Nihalani had objected to the uncensored trailer being communicate on TV stations, confronting a ton of fire all the while. He has now told a TV slot that he would pass the trailer without cuts on the off chance that he gets one lakh votes from the overall population in its support.
The film Jab Harry Met Sejal will release will hit screens on August 4.
