World Population Day- Prevention is Better than Cure
On 11 July 1989 , United Nations Development Programme was recommended as World Population Day , to pay attention on urgency and importance of population issues.
It is the right of Human to make safe, voluntary family planning . It also focuses on Male- Female Equality and efforts are made to reduce poverty.
Around 214 million women in developing countries who want to avoid pregnancy are not using effective and safe method , this is will affect on their health also . The reason is lack of access to information or services to lack of support from their partners or communities. Many of those with an unmet demand for contraceptives live in the poorest countries on earth.
The population of world is around 5.3 Billion It increases by about 90 million/year. 90% of this growth is in the developing world where about 75% of the world population live. In Arab countries, the population is growing 2.6%/year and total fertility rates (TFRs) stand 5 whereas the TFR for the entire world is a bit 3. Much of the growth has occurred in cities.
